Hi,
I'm having this problem where i can't install the Symantec Endpoint client on the protection manager server. I've tried deploying through the protection manager console but it fails. I tried running the client package (which works well on workstations) on the server and again it fails. I even tried installing the client from the CD yet it still fails. Any ideas?

The server OS is Windows 2003 standard. Endpoint version 11.0.3001.2224.

Thanks

Hi,

Please do the following:

1) Click Start > Run

2) Type %temp% and click OK.

3) Attach "SEP_INST.LOG" here to check for errors

No luck yet. I have asked the same question in the Symantec forums and no one has replied yet. It seems to me though that many are facing installation issues with this product. If i don't solve this by next week i'm installing trend on the server.

This worked for me just now.. please give this a try

This is due to LiveUpdate not installing properly as we saw on Europe

1)       C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Liveupdate -- Delete this folder

2)       C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate -- Delete this folder

3)       C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared -- Delete this folder

4)       Install the Liveupdate (LUSETUP.EXE) from CD1 of Endpoint (SEP Folder)

5)       Now Install the setup package
