add or remove members of a distribution list using command line

At one point I had a command that I could run from my command line prompt on XP that would allow me to add or remove members of a distribution list in Active Directory/Exchange 2003.  I needed this because the distribution list was not visible in the GAL.  Any help would be appreciated.

    i think your looking for something like
    dsquery group -name {groupname} | dsmod group -addmbr {member DN}
