Exchange 2003 Mailbox Store Delete Question??

Our mailbox store is about 115gig in size.  I think a lot of it is empty space from past employees.  I would like to get rid of that space and I have read to do a offline defrag.  My problem is that it will take much to long for us.  So I have decided to break up out mailbox store to multiple stores.  This will allow for easier management for us.  My question is when I get all of the mailboxes off of our main one and moved to the new mailbox stores can I safely delete our main mailbox?

Thanks

If the store has the System Attendant mailbox in it then you should restart the System Attendant Service after you have deleted the store.
