    Assisted Solution

You can use the Complete PC Backup utility built into Vista.  You will need another hard drive to save the image too however.  The Complete PC Backup Utility can be found in Control Panel | Backup and Restore Center.

If you want to do a direct copy between the two hard drives you will need to look at getting something like Norton Ghost or Paragon Drive Copy

    Assisted Solution

You can download a demo version of Acronis True Image Workstation/Home and then create a bootable CD you can use to clone the old HDD onto a new one
