Mac Mail password rejection

Alright, so I have a user, just one really, that no matter what machine we configure their account on, Mac Mail will not connect and will keep stating that the server has rejected the password.  We have tested this multiple times on other computers, as well as other venues of mail retrieval, Entourage and OWA work just fine with no password issues.  From what I can gather this is an Exchange server issue, but we have eliminated the idea that this user has had some basic configuration issue.  Any ideas on this would be a great help, as the user in question is not a fan of Entourage.

So, I'd like to cancel this request.  We ended up doing some maintenance on the exchange server, and ended up having to repair the database in the process, which in turn fixed this one user's issues.

Repair the database, seems rather nebulous.
Does this mean:
The information store for exchange?
The hard disk of the Mac itself?
some other unbeknownst to me database?
Enquiring minds want to know.
