Exchange e-mail. Will server keep copy of forwarded mail?

Running Exchange e-mail server with Activie directory.

One suer has requested his e-mail be sent to an external address; have set up contact with that address and am forwarding to the contact created.  Will the server automatically keep a copy of these e-mails in his inbox.

If no, is there a way I can ensure that it does?

When you set the forwarding address on the main account in Active Directory, check the box next to "Deliver messages to both forwarding address and mailbox."

you can go to that user's properties and then add the forwarders there..
