Exchange Server woes.

I am having some buggy things happen on my exchange server.  For instance, some of my outlook 2007 clients are having a hard time connecting.  It says "Disconnected" in the corner.

On my event viewer on the Exchange server, (Which is SBS 2003) I am getting the following "KAVE" error.

The Number of mailboxes on the mail server now exceeds the quote specified in the licene by over 10 percent.

What does this mean?  My licensing is good.... I'm very confused... please help.

"KAVE" error? Sorry, never heard that term before..

Can you post a screen shot of the particular event log please?

Ahhhh. It is Kaspersky AntiVirus.

So that wouldn't explain the "Disconnected" on the bottom right hand side of my users Outlook would it?  I gave it all night, thinking maybe some settings had to reset, but still, there it is.

Any ideas on that?
Mestha

No idea if Kapersky will stop Outlook from connecting, never used the product.

Experts Exchange is like having an extremely knowledgeable team sitting and waiting for your call. Couldn't do my job half as well as I do without it!

I think it may actually be my Active Directory.. when I go into active directory sites and services, the first site listed is Default-First-Site-Name..

Isn't that default.
Mestha

If you don't have more than one site then that is the default, but wouldn't cause a problem. This is SBS, it doesn't need things in the same way as the full product. I don't think there will be anything wrong with AD.

Run the SBS best practises tool on the server, see what that flags.

Have you check that Kaspersky is not scanning your email store directly? I think you need to provide an exclusion so its not fighting exchange..

Looks like this was caused by an array of issues, including DNS server being jacked up and our manage switch needing a reboot.

On top of that, I believe my computer had acquired a virus, as, I rebooted and it never came back up.  Everything appears to be running normal now.  Any suggestions as to how to handle this one?

If everything is running normal, just assign points based on the best answer..
