I have a 2003 Small Business Server running smoothly for over a year. Several months ago I setup a Dell WinXP Pro SP2 laptop for Outlook over HTTP. It works flawlessly. I have a new Sony laptop with WinXP Pro SP3 and I duplicated the setup from the previous installation but it will not authenticate. I get the message " The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action". I tested the RDP by using IE7 and entering https://servername.website/rpc
. The logon box appears and will not allow me logon. Just returns to the logon box. Not sure why one machine works and the other does not. Is it possible the Dell laptop is not using RDP? Any ideas will be appreciated.
