CRM 4 Error message

Hi

I have been running CRM 4 with update rollup 2 (recent re release) SQL 2008 for the past month. we have had a few minor issues but suddenly started getting the following error message wthen trying to respond to an email in a queue or send one straight from CRM.

I've not encountered this error before - but can I recommend that you:

briefly enable server-side tracing on your CRM server,
retry the action (responding to an email),
stop the tracing as soon as possible,
identify the block of code where the error occurs in your trace file
attach the trace file or an excerpt to this thread

To facilitate toggling of CRM serverside tracing, use CRMDiagTool4 from here. Note that it must be run directly on the server.
Post back when you have this info to hand :)

Take a look at http://capital05:5555/sdk/mdbrowser/entity.aspx?entity=activitypointer and check the "customisable" property on the activitypointer entity - is set to yes or no? It should be "no".
If it is set to "no", then can you confirm whether there have been any (non-crm) security patches on the server recently?

Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

Any that corelate with the start of your problems? Might be worth listing them if you can (by KB number).
For my part, I was suspecting a problem with activitypointer entity, no any further steps are general troubleshooting rather than a spefici issue in mind.

Is the issue replicable when logged in as system administrator
Is the issue replicable when attempted from the server console
Are there any custom plugins registered against the email or activity pointer entities?
Are you using the email router?

here are the list of security updates

Could not replicate the issue as admin or on Server. The only custom plugin is a MSCRM ADDons which we have been using for ages. We are also using the email Router
