We have recently implemented a new estimating software package and the need arose to flesh out some of the proposals that were lacking. I used CR 10 to create some dynamic reports that would create proposals. However I now have a problem sharing these reports with users.
Users only have access to the CR 2008 Viewer. This requires reports to be saved with data which doesn't help me since I need the report to be dynamic (it prompts for an estimate number which generates the proposal) Similarly, crystalreports.com requires the report to be saved with data.
Are there any other options for sharing dynamic CR's other than those listed above? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Crystal Reports Server/Business Objects Enterprise. They can do lot of things along with what you want to do..

My issue with those is that it's cost prohibitive. For the cost I could have the reports custom made to work with the software. The idea was to create the reports internally, thus saving us money in both development costs and update costs in the future.
With that said, CR Server may be the only way share these dynamic reports. I just want to be absolutely certain before I submit a request for custom work.
Alternatively, you could create your own software to distribute these using vs.net. There is plenty of advise on the net about how to do this. Of course you would still need to spend money on vs.net to do this if you don't have it already.
We ended up using SaberLogic's Logicity report reader. The free version allows users to run reports without having CR installed on their machines while the premium version allows for scheduling of reports, automatic emails and more.
