No, you need a modem, PC, or console server plugged into the console port of that switch.<br />

Since it's so far away, and out of band management might be needed in the future, I would think about getting a serial console server configured &nbsp;_WITH_ a valid ip address, this time, and &nbsp;plugged into the console ports, &nbsp;with a modem backup..<br />
<br />
Granted, it could be expensive/difficult to make that international call, if the modem call even works over such distances.<br />

They may not have given you a solution to your math problem that you can fill in. But you now know that it is futile to try that operation. Your problem is solved, in that you need to change what was forcing you into that dead-end. Otherwise, you could waste a whole lot more time trying to perform that impossible computation.<br />

Let's see, there are two ways to manage a cat 2960:<br />

#2 * IP-based management protocols &nbsp;(telnet, ssh, snmp)<br />

#2 &nbsp;is impossible &nbsp;(no IP address on the equipment, no access to the site due to its distance to setup that IP or do an autoinstall)<br />

I have configured a pair of catalyst 2960 switches to be shipped of site, i must have forgoten to either enable the vlan or misconfigured something accidently as no i cannot manage one of the switches from my central site, i cannot ping, telnet ect... the switch is working ok, i can see it using sh cdp from the other switch as well, i have the two switches conected togeter via etherchannel.<br />

My question is asside from the obvious thing of plugging in a console cable (which is not really an option as the switches are in another country.. ) is there some way i can get cli access to it?? &nbsp;<br />

All logic points to No but i really dont want to go out and fix it in person... <br />
