Change Exchange Account Alias

bauerbuilt asked
Last Modified: 2012-05-06
We are using Exchange 2007.  Right now our users log in names are first name plus last initial, ex: (bradt) or a combination of location code plus first name initial plus last name initial ex: c22bt.
I have been asked to find out how big a job it would be to change all the users log in names to first name.last name.  Our email addresses are already setup that way, ex:  brad.terent@bb.com.
Will I have to remake all my active directory accounts or just change the alias on them?  In Exchange, will I be able to just change their alias and have their email accounts still linked to their log in names?
I am just looking for some advice to see if this is really worth the effort to go thru.
