Trying to find an XP driver for this video card

A company that I work with recently purchased a Dell Studio Desktop 540 (Dell Tag#: BSGXQH1) from Best Buy which came with Windows Vista Home Premium. The company had me reinstall it with XP and I went through the usual driver hunt routine. Dell's website only has Vista drivers and I am unable to install these in XP. According to the website for this model, Dell lists two video drivers for Vista: an AMD and an Intel. I am assuming it uses the Intel one (Intel Q43/Q45/G43/G45 (Eaglelake) Graphics Controller) since the PC has the "Intel Inside" sticker on it. I have also tried downloading the driver from Intel's website but when I try installing it, I get an error: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". Anyone know where I get an XP compatible version of this driver? This isn't a motherboard-integrated video card. Its a separate card in a slot. Thanks.

IF you haven't called Dell directly, given your service tag to them, and ask them where to get it, I would try that.  IF you have already tried that, and they've told you that the video card doesn't have XP drivers made for it, its probably true.  I haven't heard of it with an actual video card, "card" being the key word, its usually very difficult for the motherboard intergrated video device or port, but if its not a major brand vid card, it wouldn't surprise me too much if it was a Vista specific device.

I would as a first step, call or write to them.  If they tell you that there is no XP driver for it, at least you will have your answer.  Even if its a bad answer.

If it's a discrete video card, it can only be an AMD/ATI or nVidia (Matrox is the third, but Dell doesn't package their desktops with them).  Intel doesn't make separate video cards, so open it up and look at the video card, then download the latest Catalyst driver if it is AMD/ATI, or download the latest Geforce driver if it is an nVidia.
According to this http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19247406.aspx, it's an nVidia Geforce 9800GT, so go to http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_182.06_whql.html and download it.

If it says the computer doesnt meet the minimum requirements it might mean that you need to install XP service pack 2 or 3 or update the windows installer.
