how to change distinguished name in ad

okay, i'm doing a bit of ad cleanup, and i notice that darlene masas is misspelled as darlene mases. well, if you change the last name in the accounts properties, it doesn't change the distinguished name and still shows as darlene mases.

deleting and recreating the account is not a good option cuz of some 3rd apps that rely on the sid. so...

is there a way to fix this? it is, of course, non-critical, but annoying.
