over the network if you mean such as //192.x.x.x or its host name no. thats the problem. i have turn off the firewall, i could always ping and use remote desktop to control the machine. but i cant get to the shares anymore over the network

I have a mchine that was once accessible over the network via its unc path (]] ip or host name) now i can no longer get to it. I can still ping it and use rdp on it. What can i do to resolve this. I feel this might be a virus.
