No log entry under advertisement status for uninstall/install client packages

I am trying to do an uninstall/install SCCM client to a collection of computer via software distribution.  I created two separate packages, one for uninstall and the other one is for reinstall.  What weird is that the next day, when I view the advertisement status for both pushes, I don't see any new log entry indicating any new activities whether fail or success.  Do I have to enable "Client Push Installation" in order to push it via software distribution?  Normally I should be able to see some sort of log messages after a package is pushed, but not in this case.
