Hi experts, hope you can solve this one for me.I have a PC running Win XP Sp3 that has suddenly stopped being able to recognise USB flash disks and HDDs.I've checked the USB ports, and keyboards etc seem to work fine. The USB flash disk in question in recognised in another PC without any errors (Even ran scandisk on it to check it wasn't faulty) . I've used the flash disk on this PC before and no problems (It contains backup info, which frustratinly makes me unable to restore the PC to a previous working state easily). I've tried to use sytem rerstore but t no avail, and deleted all the USB devices in the hardware manager Although none of them pertained to the USB drive in question. I've tried the USB Drive in another port as well, but same error. Any thoughts?
