sequentially running backup jobs
Hi,
Im am using symantec backup exec 11d, I have one Media server with a tape drive. I have created a policy which will back up 5 servers to this drive incremental everyday and Friday full. The jobs start at 18:30 but they are all scheduled for this time, do I need toi stagger the times or will the jobs run sequentially?

ok great one more question do I need to enable the Advance open file option?
Depends whether you want to backup open files or not
It has been know to cause issues with other database agents like exchange, sql, sharepoint etc when being backed up in the same job with AOFO selected

also you can do with just 2 jobs to backup everything
One Full to backup all 5 servers on Friday
one INC for all 5 to run on all other weekdays
If you create and target 'n' number of jobs on one tape device they will run one at a time.
While one job is running all other will stay QUEUED and will wait for the device to become available
