Open MMC, add the Certificates snap-in for Computer.<br />

Have a look and you may find that the SBS setup has already created the needed domain based certificates for you. iirc, and the memory is a bit vague at this point, they should be there as we have done EFS in the past.<br />

Note that EFS is NOT BitLocker and no where near as secure as BitLocker (Vista).<br />

I would like to enable EFS autoenrolment hence why I need certificate services installed.<br />

But there is clearly an issue with the server, as I cannot add any new components, even mouse pointers...<br />

No, it requests data from SP2 so I have downloaded and extracted server SP2 files fresh which it starts to copy from then fails straight away.<br />
<br />
The customer cannot find their install disks. I have just given them a proposal to migrate to a new server on SBS2008, lets see if they want to cough up the cash!<br />

I did wonder whether the security DB had corrupted but I did a repair on it with esentutl and the problem remained.<br />

Even though it says it is asking for SP2 disk, it will work with the SBS CD 1 ... any SBS CD 1.<br />
<br />
If you have MAPS or TechNet you can get the disk.<br />

Cannot Add New Windows Component on SBS 2003
