Cross functional flowcharts in Visio often seem to have a mind of their own. Although I can't even begin to guess all of the possible reasons for what you describe, here are a couple of things to check:<br />

<ul>
<li>Are there any shapes that are partially inside a swimlane and partially outside the lane?</li>
<li>Are there any shapes that have &quot;fallen off&quot; off the page, i.e., that are on the blue/gray background around the page?</li>
<li>Are there any swimlanes that cross into the page margins, i.e., ensure that all lanes are fully contained in the printable area of the page, which you can check with File/Page Preview.)</li>
</ul>

We have a user who is having some trouble working with Cross Functional Flowcharts in Visio 2007. When she saves and then opens the flowchart, the layout is completely different from what it looked like when she saved. It seems as if Visio is making some attempt to be helpful and clearly the user just wants the flowchart to be &quot;left alone&quot; when saving.
