Convert exchange file (edb) to (pst)

Hello,
I want to convert my old Exchange data file (edb) so that I can have all of my information on my Outlook (pst). I'm getting rid of the server. What is the best way to do this conversion?

Hello MarkMichael,
Thank you for the link. However, when I try to install the program I run into an error:
"This application failed to start because exchemem.dll was not found. Please try and reinstall to fix issue"

Have you ever run into this?
You need to install EXMERGE on to either an Exchange server or a machine with ESM installed on it. The files need to be placed in the \exchsrvr\bin directory to work correctly.

-M
You can export your mailbox from within outlook.

Just select file \ export, follow the wizard and select pst file when prompted.

This can then be re-imported your new outlook account when created.
Hi Mestha, that worked to install it, thank you. When I run it though I'm getting errors saying the Exchange Information Store Service is Not Running. But I checked my services and it is running. So I restarted it to make sure. Still getting the error. Any ideas?

I know we all don't like doing this... but when I had problems - I read the included exmerge documentation - which is not that long - and it answered pretty much all of my questions...

Tntmax: Thank you for the tutorial I'll write back when I get a chance to go through it.
Leew: you're absolutely right. I guess I've become numb to the readme files cause usually they stink. I'll look into it. Thanks.
PCIRichard - thank you for your comment, I didnt want you to think I was ignoring it. Its just that its a new install on a workstation with no data to export.

Thanks everyone
Not saying Experts-exchange isn't a valuable tool... but sometimes, the answers can be faster if we read a little (I'm the first to admit, I'm not going to read through a 500 page readme file for the answer that MAY be buried somewhere... but if the docs are 5-15... maybe 25 pages...
Nice. Cheers
Thank you experts. I was running into a permissions issue on ExMerge. I wasnt sure which permissions exactly so as a shortcut I used my besadmin (Blackberry Enterprise User) account to complete the ExMerge and it went through without a hitch. Thanks again.
