Run gpresults /v on the vista to see which policies are applied and their impact.<br />

Double check your Group policy preferences that apply to the Vista but are ignored by the XP unless you install the XMLtool, to see whether that explains the issue.<br />
Enable object auditing on the server to include success and failure. &nbsp;Configure the DFS share on each folder to record access attempts from a specific user that you would use on the vista box to access the share and then see why it is being denied.<br />

The problem is that those folders will be unavailble to those clients when they are off the domain in the future.<br />
Double check the settings on the shares to see whether you allow the shares to be available offline.<br />

I have an odd issue that I am not finding a lot of info on. I have a windows 2008 dfs setup (2 servers, replicating folders, using domain based dfs namespace). Only vista clients that are on the domain, when trying to connect to the dfs share, cannot write to the folders. Take them off of the domain, they are fine. XP clients are fine. Even have the vista domain clients connect directly to the server instead of the namespace, it is fine. <br />

Any ideas?
