Integrating Skype, Gtalk with our Voip Server

Hi Experts,

We have a voip server in our company...

Currently we have to use SJ Labs's soft phone to connect to the server and interact...

This is such a pain to request people to download this and dial this and that to talk..

Is there a way to easily enable the users to use Skype or Gtalk or other popular IMs to interact with our voip server...

Also is there a way to use web page / applications to talk to the voip server.. this is the ideal thing to be done if possible..

Or am i thinking beyond what the technology world has to offer...

There really isn't anything out there.  Skype and Gtalk are closed system (VoIP wise)... but you can put in something like a Acme Border Controller and cross boundries... acmepacket.com
You could call a good integrator like Dimension Data who really is leading the pack at these types of things... dimensiondata.com
Cheers.

Ok that means the integrating with these market leaders is costly and difficult..

But how about web phones we could use that is embedded into a piece of web page..

Also is this voip client i mentioned - SJ Softphone is best to use.. Are there any suggestions from you..

THe whole idea is make users around the world easily access our voice services with real ease..

We dont want them to download another software which many ppl are reluctant to do

Thanks

Actually our voip system is from ASterix Digital...It runs on a linux box...

Your idea of doing things via a web browser is the most favoured...
And whatever the interface we provide it has to have a dial pad to interact with our IVR system..

Even if have our server side voip equipment do we need to have pay someone to set this up..
In the trial phase we use SJSoft phone to use the system.. This things works great..

Only obstacle is that we dont wont to ask people to download a strange piece of software .. People arent just going to this as it involves another extra step...hence web is the best if integrating with these proprietary (SKYPE/GTALK) clients..

Cheeers
goign to close this as i will not spend much time with this now... will get back if needed later

This may be of interest,

http://www.skypeforsip.com/

Just announced the other day,  Skype is going to offer services via SIP which is more or less the standard for voip.  This may be what happened to the Skype for Asterisk project.  After all why not become interoperable with any PBX supporting SIP traffic.
