How do i install business intelligence studio in sql server 2005 as a component, to a different edition of sql 2005?
I want to install the component business intelligence studio into an existing installation of sql server 2005. But it wont install because the version of the installed sql 2005 has had service packs, and is now technically a different edition. I dont want to have to uninstall everything and start from scratch

As far as I know, uninstalling is your only option... I've been in a similar situation before (in my case it was SSMS that wasn't installed while SP2 was already on the box).

im getting more confused now, as it appears it was installed, but i have since installed visual studio 2008. When i load this up, it doesnt have the full options for creating a report model project.
Is there any way i can hook up the business intelligence components to Visual studio 2008?
