Fully updated. It is pointing to an &quot;external&quot; DNS server - The server is standalone and does not run it's own dns.

Windows 2008 server that aren't part of a domain tend to have long boot and shutdown times. There was a patch for this issue but I can't seem to find it. Give me a little to look around again.

Are you getting any errors in the Event Log? Go into your TCP\IP settings click Advance then DNS tab uncheck register the connection with DNS.

I have done as suggested, but it didn't help. <br />
There is one System Error in the Eventlog don't know how I could have missed it before, so not sure if it just got there:<br />
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0<br />
This could very likely be the problem since the logentry right before (28 minutes earlier) The system detected that network adapter Local Area Connection 2 was connedted to the network, and has initiated normal operation.<br />

I don't think it is a hardware problem since I can recreate a W2K3 mirror on the machine and it works perfectly.
