Thanks guys but still not seeing an exact match on the names in disk management or device manager.<br />

I rebooted and on boot I received a message that &quot;Drive 0 on primary serial EIDE&quot; is going to fail. &nbsp;<br />
<br />
Now is serial EIDE another name for SATA or is serial EIDE referring to the older IDE style with the big ribbon?<br />
<br />

its the BOIS that is telling you what's about to fail - reboot and press &lt;DEL&gt; or &lt;F2&gt; while its booting (before the Os gets loaded) &nbsp;to get into BIOS and then find the menu with the discs...

Running windows 2003 sbs server.<br />

I have 4 hard drives connected to my computer, in various ways, and I need to know which one this event is referring to : &nbsp;\Device\Harddisk2\DR2 has predicted that it will fail. <br />
<br />
Here are the drives and how they are connected.<br />
<br />
2 IDE hard drives - (primary boot disk is IDE)<br />
1 SATA hard drive<br />
1 external USB hard drive.<br />

Running windows 2003 sbs server.

I have 4 hard drives connected to my computer, in various ways, and I need to know which one this event is referring to :  \Device\Harddisk2\DR2 has predicted that it will fail. 

Here are the drives and how they are connected.

2 IDE hard drives - (primary boot disk is IDE)
1 SATA hard drive
1 external USB hard drive.
