A remote user connects to our SBS 2003 Server via RDP and has a local HP 5650 printer running on Windows Vista.
There is a known issue with the 5650 driver and for other users we use the HP 990c (as recommended by HP tech support) since it works both locally and on our server.
Unfortunately, his local driver's Advanced tab access is grayed-out so we can't change to the HP 990c.
When we attempt to install a 2nd printer using the HP 990c driver, we get an Error when attempting a test page.
When we attempt to delete the other initial printer icon, and then reboot, the system reinstalls the HP 5650 with the HP Deskjet 5600 series (HPA) driver. This printer icon works locally but, because of the 5650 driver, doesn't work on our server.
Not sure what to try next.
If the printer has a parallel port (I didn't look it up), you can connect a parallel cable and see if you can create the printer using it.
