Email Router Problem for Dynamics CRM 4.0
I am running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. I thought that I had setup the email router for CRM correctly on our Exchange 2003 server. However, something is not functioning correctly.
I have run a number of tests and here is what I have discovered.
1. If a CRM user emails a person that is listed in CRM that is on our domain that user receives the message fine.
2. If a CRM user emails a person that is listed in CRM and that person is outside of our domain, the email message is never received.
3. If a CRM user emails two or more people that are listed in CRM and those people are on our domain, each user receives the same message multiple times. The same email message will be delivered to the users inbox each minute for 8-10 minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can begin looking to resolve these problems?

Ok this sounds like an isse we are having as well,
Using the web client.
Though with us it is slightly different - when the mail goes to the external contact and is delivered on the first attempt it is only delivered to the intenal user once. However if the mail is needs multiple attempts to reach the external contact the internal user will recieve the mail an equal number of times to the attempts to deliver the mail to the external contact. (10 being the maximum number of times that CRM will attempt this )
What it looks like is that CRM is submitting it to exchange as a new message each time and the exchange server (2007 in our case ) reacts accordingly.
I am curious if setting up a recieve connector for the CRM server will alieviate this...

ASKER
Sorry that I have not updated this question. Users are setup as the following:
Email Access type - Incoming: Forward Mailbox
Email Access type - Outgoing: E-Mail Router
Users are using the web client.

So 1. doesn't sound like a problem.
How are your users configured in their user profile for Incoming and Outgoing? (Outlook Client, Forward Mailbox, Email Router, None, etc.?)
If you go into CRM as an admin and look at the Activities, Email, All Email how much is Pending Send or Error?
#3 is just crazy.again, is that web client or outlook client?
