simon, i dont think that datagridviewcombobox is not the same as combobox<br />
its a very scaled down version of the combox and does not support what you are looking for<br />

Yes I did try that but unfortunately it displays a different dropdown and one that you cannot change the dropdownwidth with regard to the size of the actual column. I have been dicking around with the idea of multicolumn option and so far its almost working exactly as I would like.. and has autocomplete which now works well with the cell validating sub... I also have full control on how the datagridviewmulticombobox is drawn which is nice.<br />
