1. Weekly backup strategy for 1 Exchange 2003 Server - 27GB Store No Public Folders
2. Most efficient DR strategy to recover Exchange to dissimilar hardware.
Proposal:
1. Weekly Backup Routine: Mon (FULL + Granular) Tue - Sun (DIFF)
(Monday Full to be kept for 1 Month) - Rotation
(Last Day of Month Full - Archived for 3 Months) - Rotation
(Backup to include Information Store and System State)
2. Backup Exec System Recovery Server 8.5 to create weely recovery point - Restore to new hardware - Restore Backups of IS.
Primary and Secondary Site Archive intervals to be decided - LAN Disk --> Tape
Questions:
Exchange - Do we need to backup any other data?
Exec Recovery - Is this the most efficient way of recovering Exchange to new hardware?
And most important how would you guys go about this scenario?
3.5TB HP EVA 3300 SAN - VDisks
Thanks in advance for all your comments.

Hi
You can just backup the information store from the exchange point of view, once the backup ran successful and you have to retore to a new server this will work just fine
No, just use the same OS and the same Exchange - install client and you can start the recovery (the name of the replacement server need to be the same.

Yes, Symantec Backup Exec System recovery ;
I have just used the restore anywhere feature on another server and everything is working perfect ;
it included, server 2008 enterprise, exchange 2007 on a dell pe 2950 ; point to be noted is that it had the same raid card and storage vault as the previous one.
I just booted with SRD disc and pointed it to the snapshot/ recovery image I had for that specific server and in 40 minutes i was able to login with the same username/paswd.
