the wires on the macbook look as though they have two parts. there is hallow plastic tube in the center surrounded by metal
if a wire snapped, can it just be taped or does it have to be replaced
what type of wires are on the macbook

the black wire that runs down the top left of the display to the keyboard area
Take a look at http://www.ifixit.com/ it has pictures, and in many cases directions. You are looking for cables (rather than wires)
