restored exchange server, outlook client sync problem.

Hello there,

We have an exchange 2003 sp2 server and we decide to upgrade to a new machine for better performance. I create a image with Acronis and restored whole thing to the target new machine. The whole process take me about 4 days to finish, and the machine is now up and running.

The problem I have is the outlook client is running with Cache mode. When I have new machine up and running they have problem to sync folders with the new machine. If I turn the cache mode off from the outlook then the client will see the mail 5 days ago and the new mail that just coming in.

What is the best approach now to solve the problem? I was think to copy the edb and stm file to the new machine but not sure if this will solve the outlook sync problem?

Thanks ahead.

Thanks qupnit,
How do I convert ost to pst file? do I have to change the outlook cache mode setting?
Regarding to my original question, is it possible to copy all the edb and stm file to new server and start working from there? Since they are virtual the same machine.

Thanks Nitin,

the problem is there is a lot of users spread around. I can not just tell them to do it one by one. From the following link it seems there should be problem to move the edb and stm, Can you confirm it's ok?

I am sorry, I mean there should be no problem to move the edb and stm data file.
I didn't do either convert or attach the db yet. Will advice and close the question later.
