Are you wanting to get the &quot;Selected Value&quot; from the DropDownList? (Or the entire value of &quot;out&quot;?) 
If it's the Selected Value of the DropDownList, then try post the value of &quot;out&quot; to a LiterControl (instead of a label)... 
If it's the entire DropDownList that you want then do it like this...

.Net seems to change the names of Controls at RunTime... (So if you View Source of your generated HTML you may find that the control has been renamed...) 
I still think that the CDD's will be the best option... 
BTW, to get the values from the CDD's I do this:

And to Pre-Select an item in the CDD do it like this:

I saw a different question of yours, and it seems that the reason you can't get the control value is because it's dynamically generated in JavaScript... 
Surley there's a way to get the JavaScript to capture the value, and then pass it in a QueryString to your .Net... (Maybe even set the session value by JavaScript...)
