If I understand you correctly you are talking about spanning-tree portfast feature on the switch. You should disable the portfast feature in order to make the port up and running directly after the power up otherwise it will take Blocking -&gt; Listening -&gt; Learning -&gt; Forwarding states which will take ~ 50 secs for the port to be online.<br />

i found finaly the way to manage the 3com switch and the solution to my problem.<br />
i need to share with all of you for anyone that can be find usefull.<br />
2948 sfp plus have a console port in the front panel and to have access through his web interface,<br />
&nbsp;you must assign an ip address in your network range (or setup a managment vlan)<br />
step a.<br />
&nbsp;Open your terminal emulation software (like PuTTY (i use this)) and configure the COM port<br />
settings to which you have connected the cable. The settings must be<br />
set to match the default settings for the switch, which are: <br />
<br />
38,400 baud (bits per second)<br />
8 data bits<br />
no parity<br />
1 stop bit<br />
no hardware flow control<br />
<br />
step b.<br />
At the login prompt, enter admin as your user name and press Return.<br />
The Password prompt displays and press Return.<br />
from the menu option select &nbsp; &nbsp;ipSetup<br />
Enter configuration method (auto,manual): manual<br />

to my problem now..<br />
there were two issues <br />
one is the delay of spanning tree algorithm that i solve quickly with the follow settings<br />
Click Device &gt;&nbsp;Spanning Tree &gt;&nbsp;Setup.<br />
Edge Port  Indicates if Edge Port is enabled on the port. If Edge Port is enabled for a port, the Port State is automatically placed in the Forwarding state when the port link is up. Edge Port optimizes the STP protocol convergence. STP convergence takes 30 seconds and is not dependent on the number of switches in the network. However, an edge port that receives a BPDU immediately loses edge port status and becomes a normal spanning tree port<br />

&nbsp;was something more complicate to find but thanks to 3com monitoring tool<br />
on device summary click on a port on the expand menu select statistics<br />
here i found a lot of information about the trafic in this port <br />
the 2 parameters that help me is CRC and ALLIGN errors , and fragment pakets<br />
CRC errors often is a result of faulty medium or wrong type or a bad NIC card<br />
i found it accidently when in this pc a n application using SQL has a lot of delay to start and user need a quick action , i noticed that in another pc the same application its work fine , both pc s are in the same network and same 3com switch , i check the port of good pc on switch and i see that there is no CRC errors and no fragments !!<br />
i decide to switch the location of bad pc with good pc and yes the bad pc play fine with no errors and application works fine.<br />
so i decide to check cabling and find that good pc in the patch panel is connected to switch with a CAT 5 patchcord and good pc with a good quality CAT 5e ,i change the cable and both pc run fine (pc s have 1000mbps cards and the switch are 1000mpbs)<br />

what i found is more and all related to stracture cabling of the building that is not so stracture <br />
the conclusion is that faulty cabling is dificult to diagnose without proper equipment <br />

spanning tree its an issue but not my main problem<br />

when the morning pc power up the error is showing in the event viewer and when the pc its not transmite anything for long time the same error or if the first activity is a printout to a share printer its not print after a few tries or a ping command , (during day and under working activity no problem)<br />
