I am connecting through a static IP to RDP to one computers on my LAN. <br />
static IP:3389 which gets me to one of my computers on the LAN. I want to know if I can connect to anouther machine on the LAN using the above method as I have more than one computer I want to connect to. <br />

Oh yeah --- one more thing -- to connect to the test system from home, in your Remote Desktop Connection, you would specify your Public IP followed by a colon and the port number you selected for the test workstation... so in the example above, if your public IP address is 1.1.1.1, then to connect to our test station, you will need to enter:<br />

1.1.1.1:4489<br />
<br />
You might run into trouble using RDP if you're trying to connect to a Home edition of XP, but that's a different story (but I can help you there too).

Sure - you can, you just have to know their IP address or name. &nbsp;And just like Alex suggested, the firewall needs to allow 3389 traffic. &nbsp;You don't have to specify :3389 because RDP uses 3389 by default. &nbsp;Just replace your private IP with the IP (or name) of the computer you're trying to remotely control.<br />

You can also expand Options, and click Save As, to create shortcuts to different computers you'd like to control remotely.

If I understand correctly, you're accessing a server from the internet by hitting your NAT router's public IP address on port 3389, and have a port forwarding rule on the router to take you to the server.<br />
<br />
You could change the listening ports on the other servers: <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306759" rel="ugc">http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306759</a>, then set up further rules on the router to forward to different servers based on the port number. Set up saved RDP connections to use the different ports.<br />
<br />
Although a better solution would be to create a VPN and tunnel the traffic through this.

if you have sbs 2003 you shouldn't use straight RDP, you should use RWW, which is much more secure:<br />

suppsaws - that's an excellent point, I agree - RWW is more secure than direct RDP, but we don't know if he's got his SBS set up to allow RWW.

there is nothing to setup, rww is configured by default, he only needs to forward port 443 and 4125 to his SBS server thatz it.<br />
I never use traight RDP.
