You can use NTFS permissions to restrict certain user's access to the directory.<br />

I have done this on my home machine so that my 4 year old son does not accidentally delete my data for my VM's<br />

True. You could remove local administrators from the permissions for the folder and add back in Domain Admins (assuming these workstations are domain-joined). &nbsp;Of course, if you allow someone admin rights on the workstation, then they can just take ownership of the folder again and change the permissions:<br />

Myself and my colleague have been experimenting with the following setup for a particular site.<br />
<br />
Host: Server 2003 Enterprise (8GB Ram) <br />
Guest: VMWare Server running Windows 2003 and Excahgne 2003 (Both SP2).<br />

Workstations:<br />
HOST: Win Xp Pro<br />
Guest: Win Xp Pro<br />

I want to restrict the host user account on the WORKSTATIONS so that items cannot be deleted from within the C:\VM directory (Where the images are) etc...<br />

It seems that the ONLY User that can run VM's is a LOCAL administrator which then gives the host user access to do whatever.. i.e. delete etc...<br />

Restrict host user for VMWare workstation 6
