When you say 'disappears' what exactly do you mean??? are there no traces of the application in the ADD and Remove programs, Programs group etc. do you see the Symantec/ Backup Exec System Recovery Folder??<br />

Are you the only user of the XP machine?? or is it a possibilty that someone is uninstalling the product?? as it does allow you to save all the setting while uninstalling so that u can get them back if you choose to reinstall

The Symantec folder remains under program files, but all the sub folders just go!!! The link in Start / Programs is still there but for obvious reasons it does not work. There's only one user of the machine and I know he would not play around with his system.<br />
As for the entries in Add/Remove programs and do recollect see a symantec entry. This I will double check on the next time it happens, which I'm sure it will.<br />
I've lots of systems with this software and never seen this. the only thing I can think of is that an update is causing the problem.<br />
I'll advise when this happens again.<br />

If I reinstall, all the backup schedules and setting are there!!! There appears to be no information in the system logs as to any activity.<br />
Has anyone seen this problem?
