We have an SBS 2000 server in place with 4 users and it is dying. We ordered a new SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007. Because this 2000 box is dying I cannot risk upgrading to 2003 and migrating. My plan is to dcpromo it and demote it to a member server. I'll then install the SMS Server 2008 from scratch duplicating the old box and recreate the dhcp, dns, group policy and server roles as if it is a brand new install. As for mailboxes, I will create pst files and reinstall them on the client after I rejoin them to the new domain. It appears there is no way to migrate from 2000 to 2008. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
