installed on windows <br />

install to a different machine or similiar to get a fresh copy of security.fdb, shutdown firebird processes, overwrite the security.fdb in the filebird directory with the fresh copy, restart firebird - your sysdba password is now masterkey<br />

or unix<br />

shutdown firebird and uninstall, install fresh copy of complete server, sysdba password is stored in a file (forget exact name) something like sysdba.password<br />

How is it possible that all of a sudden the user id SYSDBA and it's password are missing? &nbsp;Trying to do backups and using that user id, get the error message that the user id and password are not defined.<br />
