On Netware 6.5, McAfee Netshield 4.63 Scanning direction settings don't "stick".

I'd like our McAfee Netshield to scan inbound files only.  When I make this change the switch happens instantaneously, but after a seemingly random time period the netshield console switches back to inbound and outbound.

Once I notice the change, I load the Netshield Console, and sure enough,  the "files read from server" box is checked.  This happens with the McRegedit.exe and the Console, both.

I've had our other Netware-istas in to check it out, and we're stumped.  What else would make it revert back?

Where are you making this change ?

It sounds like the ePO agent is reverting the setting back, so you would need to change the Netshield policy that applies to that server from within ePO to make the change permanently

Cheers

We're not using ePO.  It's a shame, I know, we've just had terrible luck with it, so it's been scrapped.

No.  ePO was scrapped before we installed it on our servers.  Our testbed was a failure.

As it turns out, part of the test i was unaware of was, in fact, to load ePO on this server, in a non-standard way.

Tracking down the NAIMAS32.NLM through the various NCF files and then unloading it did the trick.

Thanks Simon.
