I don't think you are hearing the power supply, but the laptop speaker. Yes, it is normal for a laptop to beep &quot;once&quot; when the power supply is plugged in. My Lenovo does that.<br />

Are you hearing repeated beeps? If so how many? Also, did you try removing/re-seating the RAM you installed to see if that is the problem?<br />

It is the power supply box that I am hearing and it is non-stop multiple beeping. &nbsp; &nbsp;I reset the ram. &nbsp; The beeping from the power supply stopped. &nbsp; But the laptop will not start. &nbsp; I took out the new ram and put the old Ram back.... &nbsp;It still does not do anything. &nbsp; When I plug the cable in, the battery charge light goes on, but the laptop will not go on. &nbsp;Any ideas?

i think your PS adapter has some loose coils, and that can vibrate when charging it. &nbsp;this would be the noise.<br />
normally - it causes no further problems<br />

NO the laptop would not start without the battery and AC only. &nbsp; &nbsp;And I did not have another like power adapter to test on it. &nbsp;I bought a new Power Supply and the laptop works perfectly now.
