Theoretically you can convert the binary image to base64. Then encode that string. &nbsp;To reverse it, decrypt the string, and it back to binary. &nbsp;Though I have no idea what the performance considerations are<br />

1. Use cffile action=readBinary <br />
2. Convert to base64 using BinaryEncode: BinaryEncode(theBinaryData<wbr />)<br />
3. Encrypt() the base64 string<br />
4. Decrypt() the encoded string<br />
5. Use BinaryDecrypt(decryptedStr<wbr />ing) to convert it back to binary<br />

Well, I hesitate only because I have never done it in a production environment. &nbsp;So while it may work, I have no idea how it would perform in a live site (lots of files, lots of encrypting, decrypting going on). &nbsp;I would also check if there are any pre-written java packages for this sort of thing. &nbsp;No sense reinventing the wheel. Plus the existing packages are likely to be more highly tested (performance, etc..) &nbsp;than home spun code.

Interesting. &nbsp;It is very similar except that it encrypts the bufferedimage itself (as opposed to the base64 string). &nbsp;Then writes it to a file directly. &nbsp;Hmm... I like it. &nbsp;Let me try that out. &nbsp;

Unfortunately, I got tied up with work yesterday. &nbsp;The idea is pretty straightforward (as is the java code). &nbsp;The problem seems to be finding the right combination of encryption parameters. &nbsp;The ones listed in the original description didn't seem to be compatible in my tests: &nbsp;(ie AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding + PBEWithHmacSHA1AndDESede).<wbr /><br />

Though, I found a working in example for java. &nbsp;So, I just have to port it over to CF and see if it works there too.<br />
