The converted database is already in use so I need to extract the opportunities from act 06 and insert them into the current act 09 database.

Ahhh.... that's not a simple task. There is no way to directly export or import Sales Opportunities in ACT!.<br />
<br />
You should be able to open the 2006 database (converting it to 2009), then merge it into the in-use database (back it up first).<br />
<br />
If that doesn't work, the other option is to extract them with itExport - <a href="http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/64/1" rel="ugc">http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/64/1</a><br />
Then import them with itImport - <a href="http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/57/1" rel="ugc">http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/57/1</a><br />

I have tried opening my Act 6 database using act 2009 and it gives me the same error for each opportunity when I ask for the details of the importation;<br />

The opportunity (my opportunity name) has invalid data. Not converted.<br />

My opportunities displays fine under Act 06 and I tried reparing the databases. No go. Everything else imports fine. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have some corruption in the ACT! 6.0 database.<br />

Then try converting the database to ACT! 2009 by just opening it... if it fails, let me know as you'll need a data repair.<br />

I tried itExport for 6.0 and it gave me a .NET excel clsid error when trying to write the excel file. If I manage to get it working I might try to convince my client to buy it. I will try reparing the DB this afternoon.<br />

You might also try a &quot;Detect and Repair&quot; or &quot;Diagnostics&quot; (depending on ver of Excel) - the error sounds like an Excel issue<br />

I tried reparing using everyway described. No go either. I have attached a screenshot of the error reported by itExport for act6. The french part reports; 'The COM Object with the CLSID ... is not valid.<br />
