What is the target drive for the log files? What does the job history show??

Target drive is just to a regular disk drive on the server--nothing special. The job hangs, and doesn't show what caused the problem.

I have integrity and optimization maintenance jobs created from the maintenance wizard that should write their results to a text log file, but don't. The text files are always blank and because of this, they seem to be preventing the job from completion. Service pack 8.0.2055 is applied and the job seems to complete according the error log.<br />
