Chkdsk hangs up at 46% complete on Vista OS?

you can try a repair :

but you should test your disk...

Thank you. I did run the diagnostic tool and then performed a repair all on any errors. Yet, the system still hung up on the error check at 46%.

what diagnostic tool did you use? and it came back ok ?

I have run several 3rd party vendors and all state my hard drive is fine.
However, this may be an issue with the chkdsk.exe program - it may be bad. Where can I download a chkdsk.exe file for Vista?

i doubt it is a chkdsk problem.
can you connect the drive to another system, and run a chkdsk over it?
