i get a error using this... i think it's where you changed + for &amp;&nbsp;

if i change it back to + it does not filter as required.... 
i know for definate it should show 2 records but it's showing nothing.... 
 
also because it's VBA it does not allow DATE() only DATE

i know it's the same.... date() &amp;&nbsp;date in VBA... pointless me mentioning it really.... 
 
as for setting the filter i do: 
 
Forms!JobListme.Filter = varwhere 
 
Forms!JobListme.FilterOn = True 
 
on the code below i did use elseif at first but either way i cant seam to get it to work...

The general syntax for setting the filter property on a form is: 
 
Me.Filter = &quot;[SomeFieldName] = &quot;&nbsp;&amp; &lt;some criteria&gt; 
Me.FilterOn = True 
 
where SomeFieldName is the name of a field in the Form's underlying Recordsource.

Your problem is most likely that the date expressions in the filter string must be formatted to either the &quot;reverse&quot; US format or (preferred) the ISO 8601 format. 
And use Select Case for this ...
