asked on

Joomla or DOTNETNUKE

I was recently asked to do a Multimedia page and the options are Joomla or other similar CMS. I am wondering what the limitations pros- cons are in this application framework, over DOTNETNUKE and whats more convenient to use being a ASP NET Programmer not really a mysql php user. I can learn the basics I guess, but would it really worth for a project has anyone has expereicne with both??

I think you might want to look for local user groups and see who is nearby with experience in the two systems.  Personally, I would choose Joomla or Drupal, but that is because I have easy access to experts in those systems.  If I have a hiccup, I know where to go for help.

well the thing is, which one will alow me to program add pages (modules) and customization for a video streaming site, such as youtube.com
Any CMS will let you do that - even Wordpress.  I would think that the programming and data base work will be more of an issue than the integration with the CMS, which should be very easy.
I think you want to do I will go for Joomla ... Very easy to customize ... its has plygins, modules, components etc ...
nice, so last question , I am not that familiarized with neither joomla or dotnetnuke, but how is the idea of adding code php or asp.net C# , into this,, do I need to code my own stuff, or is enought with the plugins I install, say I want to add a database that handles podcasts or videos...
