Most likely your motherboard has defect. Isn't it still under warranty? MB surely need replacement

Unfortunately No. Warranty was expired?

Are you sure about MB?

I see a little video on external monitor with flicking

this should help for dissassembly :  http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=163827
you can always try to dissconnect cd and disk drive - does it give a display then?
remove all the ram - does it beep?
if no to both, most probable a bad mobo

The white screen indicates that there is no video signal getting to the LCD screen. Compounding that with a corrupted output to the external monitor, this would indicate a damaged video system on the laptop motherboard. Since this motherboard uses an onboard video chip rather than a separate card, the motherboard would need to be replaced.
Here is the service manual from Dell for disassembling this model

It could be due just to resolution setting perhaps. Or Driver update. Did this happen after applying any patches. Many reasons mate. Look into event log to find for clue.

not sure what you mean..

Thats loose LCD harness ( most likely loose from motherboard, that happens on dell laptops), but you said that picture is distorted on external monitor, so thats probably loose video chip (will work sometimes).

Once it works, it works. Good for you.

Also you can at startup press F12 and run diagnostics.

So, means there are no problems.

The act of plugging and unplugging the external video cable may have had the result of causing a bad cold solder joint making a good connection again on the motherboard.
I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I would expect this problem to reoccur over time.
