running wireless router in reverse

Can i use a linksys wrt54g router running DDWRT to pickup wireless signals from a public access point and send these signals to a wired desktop computer (via ethernet cable) AND a wireless laptop.

If yes, which router version and model would you recommend.

PS: Is it possible to connect this or any other router to more than one AP at any one time.
