Hi

I am having issues running backup exec on my server which has windows server 2008 running. These are the error messages I get:

(Server: "pgdown") (Job: "Full Daily Backup") The job completed successfully.  However, the following conditions were encountered:

1 files were skipped.
Note:  The backup job was configured to use the Advanced Open File Option.  However, files were skipped during backup processing.  Please ensure that the Media Server 'pgdown' is properly licensed with the Advanced Open File Option, or that the job is properly targeted for media servers that are licensed with the Advanced Open File Option.

And I get the following error message when backup exec is apparently backing up system state.

Could some one please help me sort out what this error messages are referring to so that I can have my backup run succesfully.

All your help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

The GRT warning is described in http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/311227.htm. GRT backups of a Hyper-V VM throw this warning when encountering a reparse point. See article. This is just a warning an should be ignored.

The "not present on the snapshot" error may be related to a file that was once on your system and was referenced in the registry.
Does c:\windows\system32\slanaccel.exe still exist? If not, it may no longer exist on the file system, but still be referenced the registry. Thus causing this error.

The Solution actually is:
Delete the "SAN/LAN Transfer Virtual Accelerator" service using sc delete slanaccel

According to Soumya Das Bhaumik [MSFT]:
This is a service that was being installed as part of Hyper-V Beta but we decided to remove it from RC0 onwards. So, please do not try to restore this service. Instead, disable the service from the SCM and you will stop seeing these events. We are fixing the cleanup of the service in our upcoming release so that you will not have to do this extra step any more
